The first week of the new decade we looked back at how the season has gone and how we think it might go in the second half, with New Year, New Beginnings. We also had another chapter in our Making a Living from Football Betting feature, when we explored Temperament and Betting.
There was an addition to our football research site with soccerway.com, which is a very useful and informative site that gives some information not found on other sites. This weekend will be massively disrupted by the weather but what I will be doing in future Friday Footie Updates is giving you 1 value bet for the weekend.
As you know, the only way to beat the books is to bet with value on your side, not all of these bets will win but over the long term you will end up in front. Next week we will be looking at a couple of football systems, one to back and one to lay. Whatever you are doing this weekend, keep safe and keep warm.

This week we have seen a fabulous and Simple Soccer System that nets you £3,000 a season. If you have not seen it yet, you will find it in the Tutorials on the Football Section, it is a nifty little system that works.
If you need to find websites that will help with your football stats, then you need to visit the Research facility, under Directory in the Football Section. We are adding to this facility every week until it builds into a compendium of very valuable information. A couple of useful books have been added to the site this week, one by the owner of football-data and the other by Kevin Pullein of the Racing Post, both excellent reads if you are looking for betting strategies.
In the weekly look at Making a Living from Football Betting, we moved onto Staking Plans, to see which ones suited our football betting. Everybody is different and the same Staking Plan will not suit all, so here you have a few to choose from.

This week we have seen the second installment of Making a Living From Football Betting entitled The Edge, Expectations and Value, well worth a read. We have also seen 2 reviews on football software products, The BOSS and Soccer Magic Matrix. Both of these come highly recommended and will not only lift your football betting experience but will increase your bank profits into the bargain.
Next week I will be placing a number of useful football sites in the Directory of The Football Section and Wednesday will see episode 3 of Making a Living.
