Hello Bloggers,

There were two trades sent by Betting Pro Trades today.

Confederation of African Nations Cup
Sudan vs Angola

Advice: Lay Sudan in the Draw No Bet market.
Lay odds advised: 3.00, stake £100.00
Back odds advised: 6.00, stake £50.00.
Lay odds taken: 1.45.

When I first opened this market today, the odds on offer were 2.90/3.05. As usual, placed an order at 3.00 as advised, and waited for kick off.

By kick off, the market looked as if it was going to be liquid, but at this point, there was only some £12,000 matched.

Angola scored after only five minutes, and after waiting for the market to settle, which seemed to take a great deal of time, odds of 15.00 were on offer, which I took with both hands, which at that point had just over £12,500 matched.

At this point we had a winning trade in hand. However, the match ended as a 2-2 draw, and as this was a Draw No Bet market, all bets were voided.

Italy – Coppa Italia
A C Milan vs Lazio

Advice: Lay A C Milan to qualify.
Lay odds advised: 1.50, stake £200.00
Back odds advised: 3.00, stake £100.00.
Lay odds taken: 1.45.

When I looked at this market for the first time this morning, the odds on offer in another illiquid looking market (around £500), was £1.46/1.50. However, the amount available was £45, so took this and left the remainder to see what happened in the lead up to kick off.

By kick off, the odds had reduced quite substantially, to 1.40/1.41, especially in the period leading up to the game starting. Of course, during that time, our bet had been taken up.

Cup games often turn up surprises, and Lazio took the lead after only five minutes, at which point, the odds were briefly above 2.00, only for Milan to score twice in three minutes (15 and 18 minutes).

The second half was very quiet on the goals front, with Milan scoring a third after 84 minutes, and running out what seems on the face of things to be comfortable winners, but a losing trade for the review.

Loss to bank: £100.00.

Liabilities for today: £100.00.
Total liabilities to date: £20186.60.

Loss for the day: £100.00.
Current Bank: £809.80 (starting bank £2000.00)

Selections: 142 (11 voided or scratched)
Wins: 89
Strike Rate: 62.7%.

This review has been published for 56 betting days now, and although it has recovered a little from its position from just before Christmas, it is still substantially below its starting point.

The daily postings of trades will stop at this point, and I will be returning in the next few days with my final thoughts with regard to this service.

Until the next time,

Inspector DJ

Hello Bloggers,

Greece – Super League
Panathinaikos vs Levadiakos

Advice: Lay Over 3.5 Goals
Lay odds advised: 3.20, stake £100.00.
Back odds advised: 6.40, stake £50.00.
Lay odds taken: 3.60.

When I opened the market this morning, the odds available were 3.15/3.30, so placed an order to see what happened in the period before kick off.

By kick off, the odds had drifted to 3.50/3.60, with not a single penny matched at the odds we wanted.

On this occasion, the market was going to move away from us, and I decided to take the original liability and calculated the stake at those odds. The stake then was £84.62. I also decided to keep the advised odds to exit at, not wanting to increase the risk.

There were no goals early in the game, and our back bet was picked up inside 29 minutes, thankfully before the first goal was scored after 33 minutes.

So a smaller profit than originally anticipated, but no chewing of the finger nails needed.

Profit achieved: £35.17.

England – League Cup
Liverpool vs Manchester City

Advice: Lay Liverpool to qualify.
Lay odds advised: 1.50, stake £200.00
Back odds advised: 3.00, stake £100.00.
Lay odds taken: 1.45.

When I opened the market this morning, the odds available were 1.44/1.45, and snapped up what was on offer.

By kick off, the odds had reduced slightly, to 1.41/1.42.

Manchester City scored after 32 minutes to even the tie on aggregate, only for Liverpool to equalise 9 minutes later, without the odds reaching the exit point.

They took the lead again after 68 minutes, again for Liverpool to pull things level again on the night, seven minutes later. Again in the intervening period, the odds did not drift enough for us.

Regretably, the trade did not go to plan, and a reduced liability thanks to the lower odds on offer earlier in the day.

Loss to bank: £90.00.

Spain – Copa Del Rey
Barcelona vs Real Madrid

Advice: Lay the draw in the match odds market providing that the score is level at half time.
Lay stake: £100.00 – odds to be taken at time of entry.
Back stake: £50.00 – odds to be double that taken at half time.

The score at half time was Barcelona 2 Real Madrid 0, so trade was scratched.

Liabilities for today: £310.00.
Total liabilities to date: £20086.60.

Loss for the day: £54.83.
Current Bank: £909.80 (starting bank £2000.00)

Selections: 140 (10 voided or scratched)
Wins: 89
Strike Rate: 63.6%.

Until the next time,

Hello Bloggers,

After being away from the computer screen on Sunday, there were no trades sent on Monday, but there were two for this evening.

England – League One
Scunthorpe United vs Sheffield Wednesday

Advice: Lay 0:0 scoreline in the Half Time market
Lay odds advised: 3.00, stake £50.00.
Lay odds taken: NA.

When I opened this market for the first time this morning, the odds on offer were 3.25/3.30. Placed an order at 3.00 and waited for kick off. Having seen this market on a number of occasions during the course of the review, I thought it would be unlikely to be matched before kick off.

At kick off, the bet had not been picked up, together with a drift in the odds to 3.50/3.55.

It seemed as though I had just turned the page, thinking it would take a short while to be picked up when I heard the ping of a goal – Sheffield Wednesday has scored in less than a minute!

No opportunity to even consider changing the plan, and a scratched bet.

Italy – Coppa Italia
Juventus vs Roma

Advice: Lay Juventus to be winning at half time.
Lay odds advised: 2.90, stake: £75.00.
Back odds advised: 5.80, stake: £37.50.
Lay odds taken: 2.90.

When I opened this market for the first time this morning, the odds on offer were 2.88/2.92. Placed an order at 2.90 and waited for kick off.

Just prior to kick off, the odds were looking unchanged at 2.86/2.90, with our bet being picked up during the day, and the market having traded at 2.76 on at least one occasion during the afternoon.

Another team here not reading our script. Juventus scored twice in the first half, after seven and thirty minutes, and with no response from Roma, unfortunately a loss on the day.

Loss to bank: £142.50.

Liabilities for today: £142.50.
Total liabilities to date: £19776.60.

Loss for the day: £142.50.
Current Bank: £964.63 (starting bank £2000.00)

Selections: 137 (9 voided or scratched)
Wins: 88
Strike Rate: 64.2%.

Until the next time,

Inspector DJ
