Soccer Overs is a tipping service for football, using the over 2.5 goals markets.

The sales page is headlined “Profit from the World’s Favourite Game”. I have followed football since I was a child in the 1970s, and I hoped that the service would be profitable, especially with the positive review that occurred on Betting System Truths.

Dave, the proprietor of Soccer Overs, offers a 7-day free trial, then you have a choice of a payment of £30 per month, or £70 per quarter.

Upon receipt of selections, I visited Oddsportal and Oddschecker to collect the odds available. I used sportsbooks that have an A or B rating at Sportsbook Review (www.sportsbookreview.com). This excluded Sporting Bet (D+ rating). Occasionally Interwetten were recommended, but they do not allow UK bettors.

The results of the test were as follows:

Selections: 202
Postponed: 12
Wins: 103
Losses: 87
Strike Rate: 54.2%
Total Level 1 point stakes: 190 points.
Total Advised Stakes: 1900 points.
Loss to a 1-point level stake: -7.89 points.
Loss to advised stakes (always 10 points): -78.90 points.
Total subscriptions during testing period: £150.00 (9th December to 29th April).

On April 1st (a Friday), there had been no selection e-mails during the week, and I had thought there was no issue, as this was an international week, and was not unusual for a reduction in selections. However, on a regular basis, there were selections on a Friday, and quite often from the Dutch Eredivisie (Second Division).

It turned out that the e-mail address I use to receive selections had been “blacklisted”. I have no idea how this happened, and neither do Betfan, who administer the service, but strangely enough I still receive Betfan’s product promotions, and actually received one during the course of the last week.

At this point, I asked that for the remainder of the test, that I was able to access the selections from the Betfan website, which was arranged, and I was able to obtain the information within a few moments of turning my computer on in the morning.

However, this was the only issue with receiving selections I had, and whether you receive the selections by e-mail or the member’s website, I can advise that selections were normally available by 9am, giving plenty of time to get the bets placed.

There is no hiding the facts from this review, in that to advised stakes nearly seventy-nine points were lost in four and a half months (plus subscription costs), there is a substantial change in performance from that seen by Betting System Truths.

Was there a change in how the selections were researched? The answer to that question is unknown. The odds were in excess of 1.50, fifteen selections were at between 1.50 and 1.60, with nine being better than even money.

So to conclude, taking the experiences of the test and the overall results, I regret having to fail the Soccer Overs service, which is disappointing from a personal point of view, as when I started out on this voyage, I was very much looking forward to seeing a service perform that I could approve.
