Lay Of The Day – Day 29
21st November 2011
Hi Bloggers, Inspector Colin here, with the results for Day 29 of Lay of The Day, published by ZeroHype.
Another change of approach taken today – with the providers abandoning the attempt to place lay bets (which has cost a significant amount in 5 days – see Day 28′s post). Back to a single lay bet today – but with instructions to stake to a fixed liability of 20 points (rather than fixed profit target). I will continue to monitor the in two sections – Days 1 to 23 and 24 onwards – but will keep tabs on whether results are strong from now on. The original selection method was used for 23 days, making a loss of 43.71 points using level liability stakes, or 11.6 points using the recommended staking plan.
Today we just had the one bet, at 14 – and it came second, landing us a 7.3% return – gain of 2.19 points using 30 points liability, or 1.46 using 20 points as advised.
Fixed Liability
Days 24 to 29 : Stake 1050 points, Loss -113.55 points, ROI : -10.8%
Cum: Stake 1830 points, Odds 5.68, Strike rate 77% Loss (-157.26) points.
ROI (-8.6)%. Bank (from 1000 start) 842.74 (down 15.7%).
Recommended Stakes
Days 24 to 29 : Target profit 35.54 points, Stake 236.25 points, Loss -18.69 points
Cum: Target profit 72.54 points, Stake 545.72 points, Loss (-30.32) points.
ROI (-5.6)%. Bank (from 500 start) 469.68 (down 6.1%)
As a trial this is becoming pretty meaningless, as the cumulative results won’t necessarily provide a guide to what you might get if you subscribe.
There are always the two arguments when looking at tipping services – one is that an approach which changes can’t really be very robust, and the tipster should therefore be avoided, or the alternative view that the tipster should be aware of improvements to be made, and should make those amendments. I’m pretty much in the former camp on the whole – but we’ll see how the rest of the trial works, as I know that the same tipster’s record from his ZH ratings service is very strong.
