There is no definitive answer to that particular question as there are good ones, bad ones and downright ugly ones out there in horse tipping land. My personal preference is to spend the time doing my own research and that way if my selections turn out to be duffers then I only have myself to blame. On the other hand if you haven’t got the time or the inclination then by carrying out a few simple checks you may be able to find a value for money service that suits your own style of betting, be it having a flutter on the weekends big race 20 runner handicap or a few select bets every few days.

There are a number of internet sites that run proofing services and these can be useful to draw up a short list from which you can make further checks. Have a look at the past results of each of these, are they showing a profit, or big winning months followed by big losing months? Each one of them will have losing months, or should, if they are being honest, but big swings could mean that you might need a large bank and lots of “bottle” to cope with the emotional rollercoaster. Do they detail all of their bets and recommended stakes, including the losing ones, rather than just supplying a list of the winners?

Also any credible service will have the confidence to offer a free trial which will not necessarily lead you to riches but rather give you the opportunity to see if their service is likely to be suited to how you like to bet and also if the trial selections follow the same pattern as the past results would indicate. You can paper trade these rather than using realm money and also to check that any advised prices would have been obtained and also which bookmaker accounts might be needed to place the recommended bets. If the trial turns out to record a loss do not be afraid to  ask for an extension as again a credible service will be keen to show their abilities as long term customers are the life blood of their businesses.

Over on our horse racing forum we are continually trialling both horse racing systems and tipping services to provide clear and unbiased results on a daily / weekly basis. One such trial has just been completed from the tipping service Simplebet who were happy to send me their selection after one of our members highlighted their potential. The results in summary are as follows:- More on Are Tipping Services Worth the Money?

Paul Nicholls has been quoted as saying that he believes this Saturdays Aon Chase will leave former Champion chaser Denman spot on for his bid to regain the Gold Cup crown at Cheltenham next month.

The now 10 year old will be following the same route he took when capturing the prestigious prize in 2008. His win in the Hennessey at Newbury in November was simply breathtaking and if everything goes to plan tomorrow then this will set up the mouth watering prospect of taking on his Stable companion and current reigning champion on March 19. Denman will start a very short price and is not really a betting proposition but rather a race to savour with the added bonus of him being ridden by 14 times champion jockey Tony McCoy  for the first time.

The Newbury card also includes the Grade 3 Totesport Trophy Hurdle which is fiercely contested every year, and also further recognised Cheltenham trials in the form of the Totesport Novice Chase and the Game Spirit Grade 2 Chase which will see the return to the track of the reigning Queen Mother Champion Chaser master Minded who is on a recovery mission after his being beaten last time out at 4/7 favourite. It later transpired that the horse had suffered a broken rib and has been given time to recover. Lets hope he bounces back to his brilliant best before going on to defend his crown at Cheltenham.

Over on the horse racing forum we are busy recording the results of the trials on The Gamekeeper Turns Poacher which is quickly gaining back some of the early losses, and showing real promise as a high strike rate laying method. Also being trialled are the Easy Back Method and an All Weather only service from Flat Racing Select.

Finally I mentioned earlier the Totesport Trophy Hurdle (3.05 Newbury) which at the moment has 24 entries and will be its usual competitive nature. I personally will be having a few pounds each way on a couple of horses trained by a dual winner of the race in recent times, namely Nicky Henderson. Of his 4 entries I fancy First Point and Spirit River will give a good account of themselves. This time next year Rodders…………………………….

I have recently been in contact with a very interesting guy who is really doing something different and very profitable with UK horseracing.

Click Here to go straight to the Free Rating System video…

Free Ratings SystemYou’ve probably heard about the syndicates in Hong Kong and the US where teams of boffins get together and use sophisticated rating techniques and artificial intelligence to assess races.

These syndicates pump huge amounts of money into the betting pools and make enough to support all the resources they use and still make millions.

Michael has spent a lot of time studying these syndicates and is using similar techniques here in the UK.

I’ve just watched a video that shows the huge potential from these methods.

This video shows a very basic rating method that is surprisingly accurate at narrowing down the field using just the ratings available on the RacingPost site.

I recommend that you watch this video now and make a note of any questions that you may have as the great news is Michael is being interviewed later this week so you’ll have the opportunity to put those to him.
