Systems, Systems, Systems, Can You Ever Have Too Many?

2

Do you know, I have so many systems for both football and horse racing, that sometimes you can’t see the wood for the trees. I have bought them in the past, I have tested them for developers, I have developed many of my own but at the end of the day you can’t use them all, it would be impossible. True, you shouldn’t put all your eggs in one basket, so it would be unwise to rely on just the one system but how many do you actually need?

From my experience I would suggest about 3 for each sport that you follow. The only proviso I would make to this is with Horse Racing, which has many different facets and so possibly an extra system would not go amiss. Whichever systems you choose for your sport, you must have complete trust and faith in them before you embark on throwing money at their selections. Always paper trade any system for about  a month or so, until you get familiar with it and are happy with its’ performance.

I do have a number of mini-systems for football which I have gathered over the years or have developed myself and over the next couple of months I will be feeding them into the Football Systems Section on LTO, completely free of charge. It is up to you if you wish to use them. There are obviously a number of other systems in there which you are able to buy as well.

I actually did start this process last month when I put System 11 (HT/FT) in the Football Section and this week I have continued that by placing another one in there. System 4 is based on the last 4 league games each team has played and from the information you gather you will be able to assess how any game should work out. Also this week in the Football Forum, I have started testing a system I have not used for quite a while. System 15 is based on the Head 2 Head stats of any 2 teams but I do not suggest you place any money on the selections that I pick out yet, as I am only testing it at this stage. The test will last until the end of March and if it has come out alright, I will then tell you how to pick the selctions yourself. I have put  4 selections in there for this weekend. You can follow the trial here.

Talking about Head2Head stats, I have made a new addition to the research section, www.h2hstats.com is the website to go to for all your head to head information on teams throughout the world. A mind of information and it is the prefered site for many football systems out there, with regards to h2h stats.

On Monday 15th March, I will be starting the countdown to the World Cup, with a closer look at each group in turn. It may give early indications of who to watch out for. On that vein, have Argentina turned the corner, winning 1-0 in Germany. Looking at their group and their route into the quarter finals, it does look pretty straight forward for them. In the ante-post market you can get them at 10/1, mmm, take it now, they will get to the quarter finals at least, where you can trade out if you wish.

For those following the HT/FT system, the selections for the weekend are as follows:-

Palace v Sheff Utd

Peterboro v Coventry

Plymouth v Preston

Sheff Wed v Leicester

Walsall v Millwall

Wycombe v Carlisle

Accrington v Notts County

Port Vale v Northampton

Hamilton v Aberdeen

St Johnstone v Motherwell

Onto the Friday Footy Tips and after a poor weekend last week where both of our selections went down, we are on a revenge mission this week, so it is with fingers crossed that we tread carefully into the minefield. We are looking in League 2 this week for our selections, so here we go.

Back  Shrewsbury  5/4  BetFred  – Shrewsbury are away to Grimsby, who are next to bottom and have only won at home once all season, let’s hope the second one is not tomorrow. Grimsby are losing touch with the others at the bottom, even though they have drawn 5 of their last 8. Shrewsbury are on the up, having won 5 of their last 8 and are desperate to keep in the play-off position. This game should give them a good opportunity to cement their place and at odds of 5/4 they do have a deal of value on their side.

Lay  Bury  2.0  Betfair -  Bury are at home to Dagenham and are right up there in 3rd place pushing for automatic promotion but throughout the season they have tended to be more prolific away than at home, plus they have not won in their last 2 games. Dagenham themselves are now pushing for a play-off spot after a good run, they have won 3 of their last 5. They did start the season with great home form but very poor on the road, that has changed somewhat in the second half of the season and they are now performing well away, so I am prepared to take Bury on at 2.0.

Heh, now it was the HT/FT system who didn’t go well… 0 wins, am I correct? This week both Home-Home & Away-Away were the big winners.
Bad days happen, you still have some profit and surely the next week the Draw-Home is back on track!
