Friday Footie Update
The first week of the new decade we looked back at how the season has gone and how we think it might go in the second half, with New Year, New Beginnings. We also had another chapter in our Making a Living from Football Betting feature, when we explored Temperament and Betting.
There was an addition to our football research site with soccerway.com, which is a very useful and informative site that gives some information not found on other sites. This weekend will be massively disrupted by the weather but what I will be doing in future Friday Footie Updates is giving you 1 value bet for the weekend.
As you know, the only way to beat the books is to bet with value on your side, not all of these bets will win but over the long term you will end up in front. Next week we will be looking at a couple of football systems, one to back and one to lay. Whatever you are doing this weekend, keep safe and keep warm.

Hi Alex,
A couple that I like are in the Over/Under section you can look at each team and see how many times a certain number of goals have been scored in their matches. You can then match this up to their opponents and use it for over/under, total goals spread and to lay unlikely scorelines.
There is also a disciplinary section where you can check out the card records of the bad boys. For instance you will see that at present Sunderland have 3 out of the top 8. Now if those 3 are playing in their next match you can more or less guarantee more than 3 cards in the game and so make yourself a bit of profit.
It can all be done in minutes and turn a losing day into a winning one.

Hi Kevin,
I’ve been using soccerway.com for a couple of years, and I particularly like their 3 match form table. Very useful for my Total Goals spread bets, and using it more and more now in fact.
What are the unique bits that you’ve found?
Alex
