There were four trades issued today for members.
The total liabilities were greater than the funds available:
Derby County vs West Ham – £162.50.
Norwich City vs Fulham – £150.00.
Stoke City vs Wigan Athletic – £420.00.
Swansea City vs Tottenham Hotspur – £435.00
A total of £1167.50.
However, with the bank in a poor state of play, I sent an email to Stuart for his advice on what he would like to do.
His thoughts were:
“I would personally use funds beyond my £2,000 balance to cover the trades but this is obviously down to the individual trader and funds available and comfort level.
The alternative is to place the trades with lesser stakes so the bank can cover them but obviously this would mean longer is taken to win back losses if all trades do go onto win.”
As we have a £2,000 bank, I decided to reduce the stakes between the trades.
England – Championship
Derby County vs West Ham United
Advice: Lay West Ham United
Lay odds advised: 2.30, stake: £50.43.
Back odds advised: 4.60, stake: £100.86.
Lay odds taken: Not applicable.
When I opened the market, after receiving Stuart’s reply, the odds on offer were 2.44/2.46. I placed an order at 2.30, to see if we would get matched.
In the period leading up to kick off, the odds on West Ham drifted like a barge in a following wind, and stood at 2.60/2.62, and I left the lay bet, hoping for a bright start by the team in Claret and Blue.
That, unfortunately, was not to be with Derby scoring twice in the first ten minutes, and I voided the trade after halftime.
England – Premier League
Norwich City vs Fulham
Advice: Lay 0:0 in Half Time market
Lay odds advised: 3.00, stake: £30.19.
Lay odds taken: 3.00.
When I opened the market, the odds on offer were 3.10/3.15. I placed an order at 3.00, to see if we would get matched. At this point, there had been only four bets, and only some £1500 in the market.
By kick off, there had been a few more trades, with the market standing at 3.10/3.20, and as usual, I left the bet to be matched, which happened within five minutes of kick off.
Fulham scored the only goal of the first half after seven minutes, so we were matched in good time.
Profit achieved: £28.68.
England – Premier League
Stoke City vs Wigan Athletic
Advice: Lay Draw
Lay odds advised: 3.80, stake: £60.66.
Back odds advised: 7.60, stake: £30.33.
Stop loss advised: Back @ 1.90 for £121.32, ONLY if score at that point is 0:0.
Lay odds taken: 3.70.
When I first looked at this trade, the odds were slightly better than expected, at 3.65/3.70, with a gradual movement down towards 3.50.
By kick off, the odds had drifted to 3.55 at one point, and had now risen again to 3.80/3.85.
Wigan scored just before half time, with goals from Stoke at 77 and 84 minutes, the market had just settled, and I was able to get out at 15.0, before Wigan were awarded a late penalty.
Profit achieved: £43.41.

Swansea City vs Tottenham Hotspur
Advice: Lay Draw
Lay odds advised: 3.90, stake: £60.68.
Back odds advised: 7.80, stake: £30.34.
Stop loss advised: Back @ 1.95 for £121.36, ONLY if score at that point is 0:0.
Lay odds taken: 3.90.
On looking at this market for the first time, the odds being offered were 3.85/3.90, and had been steady for some time, and took the odds being offered.
By kick off, odds stood at 4.10/4.20, with movement up as well as down.
Tottenham Hotspur scored just before half time, with the odds during the second half gradually drifting out, with the trade being completed with seven minutes of the game to go, just before Swansea got their equaliser.
Profit achieved: £28.82.
Liabilities for today: £406.20.
Total liabilities to date: £13241.10.
Profit for day: £100.91.
Current Bank: £572.66 (starting bank £2000.00)

Strike Rate: 61.7%.
Unfortunately, we missed out on the first trade of the day, but welcome profits on the other three give some welcome returns to the bank.
However, we did have some fortune to be thankful for, and hopefully we can have some more in the next few days.
